Altier ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Altier mobile application and web app at altier.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our AI-powered virtual try-on service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. Guest users are assigned anonymous credentials automatically.

Images You Upload: Photos of yourself and garments that you upload for virtual try-on processing. These images are sent to our secure server and forwarded to Google's Gemini AI for processing.

Usage Data: We track the number of try-on credits used per account to enforce free-tier limits and manage subscriptions.

Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number. We only receive confirmation of successful payments and subscription status.

Device Information: Basic device info (platform, browser type) for compatibility and debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Virtual Try-On Processing: Your uploaded images are processed through Google Gemini AI to generate try-on results. Images are transmitted securely via HTTPS.
• Account Management: To authenticate you, track your usage credits, and manage your subscription status.
• Service Improvement: Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics help us improve the app experience.
• Payment Processing: To fulfill subscription purchases and credit pack orders via Stripe.

3. Image Handling & Retention

We do not permanently store your photos. Images are held temporarily in memory during AI processing and are not saved to disk on our servers after the try-on result is generated. Try-on result images may be stored in your account history if you are logged in, and you can delete them at any time.

Images sent to Google Gemini AI are subject to Google's AI Terms of Service. Google states that data sent via the API is not used to train their models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:

• Google (Gemini AI): Image data for AI processing, transmitted via encrypted API calls.
• Stripe: Payment processing — they receive only the data necessary to process your payment.
• Render (Hosting): Our backend server host — they provide infrastructure but do not access your data.
• Netlify (Hosting): Our frontend host — serves static files only.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• JWT-based authentication with secure token handling
• API rate limiting to prevent abuse
• App-level key authentication between client and server
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
• Security headers (X-Frame-Options, CSP, XSS Protection)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in your account
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your try-on history
• Cancel your subscription at any time (effective at end of billing period)
• Opt out of any promotional communications

7. Children's Privacy

Altier is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to maintain your login session and app preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
